Christian Schools Blogsite Discussion

Around the world there is a wonderful diversity of Christian schools. This blogsite includes articles and promotional videos for, and about, Christian schools. The inclusion of material is not an endorsement.

Hopefully these articles, videos and examples from around the world will help parents better understand the different visions of Christian schools. The goal is for parents to be better equipped to ask questions. It may help Christian schools evaluate what messages they are sending out to their community.

Christian School serving Aboriginal Community

Monday, April 04, 2011
Many Christian schools offer students opportunities to be involved in 'Mission' Trips. These are to encourage them to find outlets for service and be exposed to needs they may not be aware of in either their local or distant community. The motives behind, and the learning experiences, vary dramatically from school to school.

Covenant Christian School in Sydney (managers of this website) have developed an ongoing relationship with an Aboriginal community in Yarrabah Queensland. Yarrabah is near Cairns in the north of Australia.

This annual trip for Year 10 and Year 11 students is run in conjunction with the Bible Society. Students and parents from Yarrabah have also visited the school in Sydney. This video gives an insight into some of the activities and impact of the trip.
